SPPG

The School of Politics, Policy, and Governance (SPPG)

Challenge

Africa’s governance crisis is rooted in a failure of leadership. Despite a youthful and rapidly growing population, political systems remain plagued by corruption, weak institutions, and poor policymaking.

Solution

The School of Politics, Policy, and Governance (SPPG) is closing Africa’s leadership gap by training a new generation of public leaders who are competent, ethical, and citizen-focused. Through a year-long, practice-driven program, SPPG equips fellows with policy expertise, governance skills, and leadership values, while connecting them to mentors and networks that accelerate their public impact.

Traction

Since launch, SPPG has trained over 1500 fellows across Africa, with alumni now serving in elected office, senior government roles, and leading reform initiatives in civil society. Backed by partnerships with institutions such as Yale and global development organizations, SPPG is building a scalable model to transform governance across the continent and establish the largest pipeline of values-based political leaders in Africa.
