Today, we’re proud to celebrate a major milestone for one of our portfolio ventures, the School of Politics, Policy, and Governance (SPPG).
SPPG is building a new generation of ethical public leaders equipped to rethink how Africa is governed, how policy is made, and how public institutions serve citizens.
With the graduation of its inaugural Pioneer Cohort in Kenya, SPPG has now scaled its model beyond Nigeria and Senegal, making Kenya the third country in which SPPG operates. 🇳🇬 🇸🇳 🇰🇪
On July 3, 2026, SPPG Kenya celebrated its first graduating class at the National Museum of Kenya in Nairobi, commissioning 55 pioneers as ethical public leaders.
The ceremony featured SPPG founder Dr. Oby Ezekwesili, pioneer dean Dr. Njoki Wamai, and Amb. Erastus J.O. Mwencha, Chair of FixPolitics Kenya. UN Special Representative Zainab Hawa Bangura delivered the keynote address, challenging the graduates to become the “first custodians of an idea” for reforming African governance.
From its roots in Nigeria to its expansion across Senegal and now Kenya, SPPG is demonstrating what it looks like to take an institution-building idea and adapt it across African contexts.
With applications for the Kenya Class of 2027 now closed, the next cohort is on its way.
